The Thomas Callihan Family Research Association is a
loosely-knit group of researchers who all have lineage, either directly or
through marriage, to Thomas and Mary Callihan. Most of us met by way of the
Internet and a number have since met in person. This website is our attempt
to pool knowledge, gather and validate family history information, preserve
years of family research and provide an authoritative Thomas Callihan family
genealogy.
We ask that you register to use the website because we
want to make sure that the information displayed here is used legitimately
for genealogical purposes. When you register to use the site, please read the
“Terms & Conditions.” If you agree to
the Terms and Conditions, you will be directed to the registration form.
The mission of the Thomas
Callihan Family Research Association is to establish a website though which
it can
Share family lore, proving or disproving the same
where possible;
Share identified family photos, with sources/credit
where possible;
Share unidentified family photos in the hopes of
identifying them;
Identify and acknowledge earlier researchers for
their efforts in gathering data and stories;
Provide a list of privately published books on
Callihan and related families, including books on those Callihan
families as yet unconnected to ours;
Share information about buildings, farms, parks
cemeteries, etc. that are named Callihan or a variant, and/or that hold
the remains of Callihans and their relatives;
Provide space for interaction among researchers;
Provide space for pedigrees of as yet unconnected
Callihan families;
Update the site on a consistent regular basis;
Protect copyrights on original materials published
on the site;
Establish whatever legal entities and relationships
as may be necessary to accomplish the above.
In addition to the Thomas Callihan Family Tree, and inline
with our mission to provide space for pedigrees of as yet unconnected
Callihan families, we also have the following family trees on our website:
Charles
Callihan Family and descendants, beginning with the birth of Charles in
about 1780 in Virginia before moving on to Greenup County, Kentucky
where the family is well-established today.
The
family of Mittie Ann Morgan, wife of Simeon Callihan who was a grandson
of Thomas and Mary Callihan. The source of the names in this family tree
is a CD provided by Paul Christiansen titled: "Descendents of Col.
Morgan Morgan by French Morgan, 1950; Morgan Morgan Commission
Report." There are approximately 5000 names in this family tree.
Only the descendants of Morgan Morgan are shown on this site. The CD
also includes photos and biographical details. Mr. Christian does not
vouch for the accuracy of all lines. Those wishing a copy of the CD can
find Mr. Christensen’s contact information in the notes field for Morgan
Morgan.
